60 Year Old Homeless Woman Says Police Broke Her Arm

Donna Deiss called in last night to report that yesterday around 5 PM, Officer La Moss (Badge #114) assaulted her, broke her arm, and then put her in handcuffs when he attempted to question her at Three Tree Lot near Lighthouse Field. Deiss was taken to the Watsonville hospital, had to wait hours for x-rays, whichconfirmed her arm was broken.
Deiss reported the following to me in a phone message last night and an e-mail this morning:

She was talking with friends yesterday on Westcliffe Drive near her RV. An undercover police officer, whom she later identified as Officer LaMoss, arrived in a black unmarked car and said he wanted to talk to her and others in the group. She read La Moss a statement from the ACLU about the rights of community members vis a vis the police and walked to her RV.

The cop followed her. She got in and tried to close the door. Le Moss, not saying she was under arrest or detained, reached in and grabbed her right arm, pinching the skin as he twisted it behind her back, breaking it. She screamed her arm was broken, but his response was to call for backup. 4 more police cars arrived. She continued screaming for 911 and finally paramedics showed up.

The police said they were impounding her RV, which she lives in.

She was taken to Watsonville hospital, waited hours for x-rays and painpills. She is charged with battery and an additional charge. X-rays confirm her arm was broken. She needs an attorney and community support.

This is an account from Donna Deiss (with someadditions from her friend Shane). Donna has previously been harassed by rangers as part of the 'clear out the hippies' campaign at Three Tree Lot and the other lots around Lighthouse Fields. Recently the City's Parks and Recreation Department had its 'No RVs' signs painted over by state Rangers, for apparently violating state law and policy regarding parking (i.e. RVS are allowed to park).

Faryce B. Moore, Vice President of Grievances, Social Service Employees Union (SSEU) Local 371, New York City, stated: "It's time for the labor movement to start standing up for all sorts of political prisoners, and standing up for all people who have the goal of justice. I don't think we should be intimidated by any skinhead groups or fascist groups. Labor brings the numbers and the power to the table to stand up for the rights of people like Mumia Abu-Jamal and people similarly situated." Donald Afflick, president of the New York City chapter of the Coalition of Black Trade Unionists, told the PDC: "There is no more expression, no other expression, that a labor person has than to withhold their labor." He added, "This has been going on for a while with Mumia, but we need to keep the pressure on, like you guys are doing."

Labor unions representing hundreds of thousands of workers internationally have joined the call to free Mumia, an innocent man framed up because of his political views; and Mumia has long spoken out on behalf of labor. In December 2005, when New York City transit workers in Transport Workers Union Local 100 struck in defiance of New York Stateís Taylor Law, crippling the city for three days, Mumia wrote of the parallel between the laws that ìdemanded that Blacks take the back of the busî and the law that ìoutlaws the right of those who labor to withhold their labor, to better their condition.î During a lockout of 2,500 unionized ABC technicians in 1998, Mumia refused an interview by reporters from the 20/20 TV news show, stating that he would rather die than cross the picket line.

What is a Rave? In literal terms, a rave "is an all-night dance event where DJs and other performers play electronic dance music and rave music either in venues or outdoors" ("Rave." To the new generation familiar with this term, it is “a unique cultural phenomenon, one which involves a new electronic musical form, and the ritualistic, neo-tribalistic gathering of people who dance all night to achieve a collective trance state...Some people unfamiliar with rave culture think that this phenomenon simply occurs if ravers take enough ecstasy. This belief lies far from the truth...many people describe complete psychedelic trance experiences they have had at raves on nothing more than mineral water." Chicago: Spring 2004.Vol.98, Iss. 3; pg. 1251, 39 pgs). No matter what the real definition of a rave is, today, rave has also taken up the meaning "potentially busted for no reason". In 2003, an 11th hour amendment to the AMBER Alert bill, more commonly known as The Rave Act, made business owners liable for the drug law violations of their patrons, even when they take steps to prevent on-site drug use. The Rave Act was supposedly created in response to the popular use of MDMA or ecstasy at raves, but due to lacking specifications in The Act, it has turned into a very dangerous weapon. Because innocent people are being punished for crimes they didn't commit, because legitimist parties with permits have been shut down forcibly, and because it suppresses dance culture, the Rave Act of 2002 is so general that it is easily and frequently abused.
I understand that the supporters of the Rave Act believe that suppressing raves help combats the War Against Drugs because drugs like cocaine, speed, and MDMA which were deeply rooted in the older club scene. In fact, studies have shown that New Orleans hospitals haven't seen a single person suffering from the repercussions of ecstasy since the Act passed. It seems sensible to any parent to want to protect their children, to defend them as much as possible since a 17-year old girl passed away in 1998 in New Orleans due to heatstroke caused by not hydrating herself after taking ecstasy.
True, there have been some deaths associated with MDMA, yet it is impossible to overdose on ecstasy. Usually, these deaths have been a result of heatstroke from dancing for long periods of time in hot clubs without replenishing lost body fluids. Also, contrary to popular belief, ingesting MDMA does not create holes in the brain. Only approximately 2 per 100,000 users have extreme negative reactions resulting in death (Erowid. "MDMA Effects." The sudden decline in emergency room visits due to ecstasy "overdose" may be due to ecstasy awareness and organizations like Dance Safe and their participation in educating those at raves about the hazards of not hydrating oneself upon taking ecstasy. Organizations like Dance Safe also go to raves and parties and test the purity of ecstasy pills to avoid the dangers of other street substance might be in the pills.

Because of The Rave Act, those who have nothing to do with drugs are being imprisoned. The Rave Act allows the shutting down of dance and concert venues which young people attend. It allows imprisonment of not only the drug user, but the promoter of the show and the venue owner. Imagine this. A teenager of a household conducts a party with music where a joint is being passed around. If the police decided to raid the party on suspicion of drugs, not only will everyone who was involved with the joint get in trouble, but that teenager's parents will potentially face 20 years imprisonment go to prison plus a civil liability clause of $250,000 or more, and a possible $500,000 fine ("Sec. 4. Parties which have appropriate permits on private property have been forcibly shut down. The most recent, extreme example of this occurrence took place at Salt Lake City, Utah on August 20th, 2005. The Utah county sheriff department conducted a stake out on a site which was promoted to be a huge "album-release party". At about eleven-thirty at night, SWAT Team agents in full military combat regalia stormed the rave. The only amateur video from the scene shows an estimated 90 SWAT police. "Armed with assault rifles and tear gas, the police used dogs to sweep the crowd for narcotics. At least one helicopter was used in the operation." ("Utah Rave Raided by SWAT Team". This even took place on PRIVATE PROPERTY, Child’s Ranch. The owner of the property who resided near the event stated that she has had at least one previous lawsuit with police over a similar event.

[High-resolution image ] A former employee of Liaoning Provincial Thrombosis Hospital of Integrated Chinese and Western Medicine told The Epoch Times during a recent interview that the Sujiatun Concentration Camp in China was actually a part of a hospital. The concentration camp has engaged in taking organs from Falun Gong practitioners when they were still alive and selling the organs. Since 2001, the concentration camp has secretly detained approximately 6,000 Falun Gong practitioners, none of whom have been able to leave the camp alive. The hospital removed many kidneys, livers, and corneas from the practitioners. After the organ removal, the practitioners were thrown into an incinerator, which was converted from a boiler. Their ashes were dumped together with burned charcoal.

Organs from Three Quarters of the 6,000 People Were Removed
Those whose organs were removed were in various states of health. Because many of the victims were illegally detained, there was neither an arrest warrant nor identification as to who these people actually were. Often after their organs were removed, nobody claimed the bodies. Sometimes their bodies were picked up by crooks who pretended to be their family members.

About three-quarters of the 6,000 people died after their hearts, kidneys, corneas, or skin was removed; their bodies were then burned. This witness, whose family member participated in the removal of Falun Gong practitioners' organs, said that approximately 2,000 Falun Gong practitioners remain in the hospital. She was afraid that the authorities would kill all of them to destroy evidence.

The Liaoning Provincial Thrombosis Hospital of Integrated Chinese and Western Medicine is located at 49 Xuesong Road, Sujiatun, Shenyang City, Liaoning Province, China. It was the first hospital in China to specialize in the heart, the brain, and surrounding blood vessels. The hospital is composed of several organizations, including the Liaoning Traditional Chinese Medicine College Teaching Hospital and the Shenyang Thrombosis Treatment Center.

Concentration Camp Details
The hospital site is 21,087 square meters, with 17,564 square meters of building area. It employs 460 people in 24 departments and 20 specialized offices. Information from the Chinese government shows that the hospital was established in December 1988, and was formerly named the Shenyang Research Institute of Thrombosis and Liaoning Province Thrombosis Treatment Center of Integrated Chinese and Western Medicine. In June 1998, it was renamed China Traditional Medicine Thrombosis Treatment Center.

The Chinese Business Morning View said in a story on July 4, 2004, that a farm worker died of abnormal causes in Sujiatun, Shenyang and was later cremated. The death certificate was provided by the Chinese Medicine Thrombosis Treatment Center in Sujiatun. The news caused a stir in China.

Epoch Times: Did the hospital's medical staff inside the concentration camp know about this?

Answer: This hospital has a small number of officials and some doctors involved secretively in the operation of organ harvesting. Some other staff in the hospital knew about this, but this is absolutely a taboo [to talk about]. They all are afraid of being killed or courting trouble, so they all avoid the issue. Only those highly trusted doctors could be chosen to be the surgeons for organ harvesting operations.

ET: Were Falun Gong practitioners alive when their organs were harvested? Did their families know about this?

Answer: Falun Gong practitioners who were imprisoned there came mostly from Dabei Prison, Masanjia Labor Camp, and other prisons in Shenyang, or they were Falun Gong practitioners arrested in parks or residential homes. Because they refused to denounce Falun Gong, they were arrested without formal warrants, and their families did not know their situation. Many did not even have their names [recorded]. In addition, since the Chinese authority exercises a policy of "not being responsible" for killing Falun Gong practitioners, the death of Falun Gong practitioners is not a very big issue for prisons. The Chinese Communist Party persecutes Falun Gong, [but] these medical personnel were told Falun Gong practitioners were facing death because they killed people, or they were sentenced to death because of crimes, or they had become insane from practicing Falun Gong.

Those Falun Gong practitioners whose organs were harvested came from several types.

Organs harvested from live bodies are worth far more than organs taken from dead bodies. Many Falun Gong practitioners were still alive when their organs were taken. After their organs were cut out, some of these people were thrown directly into the crematorium to be burnt, thus leaving no evidence. For some others, after their organs were stolen, the doctor sewed up the wound and asked the family or family representative to give a signature for cremation. Family members did not know at all that the dead had their organs taken out.

Furthermore, there were some healthy Falun Gong practitioners in prisons in other areas who were injected—without their knowledge—with psychoactive drugs that made their minds confused. They then were transferred to Sujiantun concentration camp to suffer further torture, till in the end their organs were harvested and their bodies were cremated in secret.

Among the Falun Gong practitioners whose organs were harvested, some were weak and some were healthy. Since most of them were illegally arrested, there were no arrest warrants or identification cards. After their organs were taken out while they were still alive, no one came to claim their bodies; or [sometimes] people using fake identities claimed their bodies.

None of these people have come out [of the concentration camp] alive; three-quarters of these 6,000 people have died, having their hearts, kidneys, retinas, and skins harvested and their bodies disposed of. I think now about 2,000 Falun Gong practitioners are still in this hospital, and I am afraid now that the authority will destroy all evidence and kill them.

Question: How did you know these things? Were you yourself a doctor involved in organ harvesting?

Answer: I worked at the Liaoning Provincial Thrombosis Hospital of Integrated Chinese and Western Medicine, Shenyang. This is exactly where this concentration camp is located. One of my family members was involved in the operation to harvest Falun Gong practitioners' organs. This has brought great pain to our family.

Question: Please tell us what you knew about.

Answer: From 2001, our hospital started to detain Falun Gong practitioners. At the beginning, these people were detained in the single-storey houses in the back yard of the hospital. Later, the hospital authorities demolished the single-storey houses, and it was unknown where in the hospital the Falun Gong practitioners were transferred. Many staff of the hospital discussed in private that these Falun Gong practitioners had been secretly transferred to the underground chambers of the hospital. According to some people working inside the hospital, the hospital has a huge system of secret underground chambers.

At the time when we went to work there, the person in charge of logistics and purchasing in the hospital said that the quantity of disposable sterile gloves used for operations and daily supplies that the hospital authorities asked to be purchased had increased dramatically. The logistics people estimated based on the scale of purchases at that time that there were at least 6,000 Falun Gong practitioners detained in this hospital.

These Falun Gong practitioners were not detained in the 4-story building under the in-patient department and administration at the front of the hospital, in order to keep the hospital staff from seeing them at all. We only occasionally saw Falun Gong practitioners being sent on a mobile intensive care bed to the first floor for physical examinations. These people were very weak. For the majority of the Falun Gong practitioners, nobody knew where they were being secretly kept. While they still did not know where these people were kept, some staff inquired to the hospital authorities about why so much food and so many sterile gloves and daily supplies were purchased. The hospital authorities said, "You only need to do your job well. There is no need for you to ask any other questions."

Starting in 2001, a family member of mine participated in organ-harvesting operations. My family member tried to keep me from knowing about this at the beginning. The hospital authorities selected doctors they trust in different aspects to perform the secretive operations. After a period of time, I found that my family member was in a lot pain, often had nightmares, and appeared panic-stricken. After repeated inquiries, this family member told me the truth. The leader of the hospital had asked my family member to participate in the organ harvesting operations on Falun Gong practitioners as early as 2001. It was 2003 when my family member confessed. A few years after, my family member felt so much pain from participating in this incident that it was impossible to continue with the evildoing. My family member decided to go abroad to get away from this matter.

My family member also told me: "you don't understand my suffering; those Falun Gong practitioners were alive. It might be easier for me if they were dead, but they were alive."

Question: Were there any other doctors from the hospital taking part in the operations of cutting out Falun Gong practitioners' organs?

Answer: I know there were some. All these things have been carried out secretly. Many doctors at our hospital involved were practicum doctors transferred from other hospitals. Because the government does not want to be responsible for Falun Gong practitioners' bodies and lives, their lives are treated as garbage by the regime, and their bodies were used in experiments by new doctors doing their practitcums.

Many doctors came and left the hospital because they suffered a lot after having been involved in these kinds of things. They either requested to be transferred to other places, or changed their names. Some might have been killed to eliminate the evidence, their identity files were taken out from the hospital's filing system, or their names were changed. Nobody knows where the doctors have gone.

The hospital staff all know that the rear part of the hospital is forbidden. It is always watched. The staff avoids talking about the place.

Question: It is said the hospital is equipped with an incinerator. The person whose organs were removed will be burned when he or she is still alive. Is that true?

Answer: The employees in our hospital call this place "the incinerator." Actually, it is a boiler room. Some poor farmers from nearby places were hired to work in the boiler room. They were penniless when they first came here. But they could scrape up some watches, finger rings, necklaces, and so on. The amount is not small. It is said by the employees in the hospital these jewelry and watches were collected from the Falun Gong practitioners whose organs had been removed when they were about to be thrown in the boiler to be burned. It is also said by the employees in the hospital, some were still alive when being thrown into the boiler.

Question: Do they get injection of anesthetic when in surgery?

Answer: Yes. There is a cap to the anesthetic quantity used in mainland China's hospitals. Generally, the supply of anesthetic was determined according to the accommodation of the hospital. To the public, the number of patients in our care appears to be very small, and publicly reported number of surgical procedures performed is quite low. But the equipment and articles used in surgery are abundant. Because the amount of anesthetic is limited, these secret surgeries could not use the normal anesthetic doses. In order to save anesthetic, they economized on the anesthetic used in surgeries on these Falun Gong practitioners. The amount of anesthetic used was very small. However, many whose organs were removed were still alive. You can imagine the pain suffered by the Falun Gong practitioners whose organs were removed.

Question: Are there any survivors among the 6,000 people detained since 2001?

Answer: Nobody has come out alive. The number of them gets smaller and smaller. The Falun Gong practitioners detained at Sujiatun are fewer now than before. But I believe that the sin of removing the organs of the Falun Gong practitioners is still continuing.

Question: Where are these organs usually sold to? Do the higher authorities in the government know about this?

Answer: They are mainly sold to Thailand, but I believe they are also sold to other regions of the world. Nowadays, there are many patients in China who need human skin, corneas, and kidneys for organ transplant surgeries. Many patients have to wait in line to purchase organs. Currently, a kidney can be sold up to the price of 30,000 to 100,000 U.S. dollars. The profit from selling organs is simply too great. People ranging from government officials to doctors to organ sellers are all involved in this and are profiting greatly.

Question: Why did they target Falun Gong practitioners as the source of organs?

Answer: Because relatives of many Falun Gong practitioners don't even know that their family members were arrested. So if the Falun Gong practitioners are killed, there will be no one to come and claim their dead bodies.

I've always had a kind of knee-jerk trust in my Government's basic integrity, whatever political blunders it may make. But I've come to realize that in Washington, deceiving and manipulating the public are viewed by some as the natural prerogatives of office. Huey Long once said, "Fascism will come to America in the name of anti-fascism." I'm afraid, based on my own long experience, that fascism will come to America in the name of national security.

Haven't they always been the folks screaming about smaller government, less legislation, and the right to personal privacy. I guess that all goes out the window when you get involved in trying to consolidate all three branches of government under the thumb of the executive.

So with George and the boys in charge- you can't control your family's private medical issues, but you can buy all the .50 caliber rifles you want- That makes sense. They will kill 200 Iraqi civilians in a market and call it "collateral damage"...but a brain dead white woman must be saved. Congress wants to fire up the fundagelical base again. terry randall used to head Operation Rescue and it's an excellent distraction from all of delay's ethics violations...

During the RNC raid on NYC ’s grief, my GF and I sneaked into Macy ’s, figuring it would be deserted and we could cop on some of the sales.

There were less people than usual, but there were also Republicans.

How did I know? Because people from New York and surrounding areas don ’t wear glitter and taffeta red, white and blue ball gowns DURING THE DAY.

Or parade their daughters around half naked in the latest Brittany/Christine slut wear.

And men in the civilized world do not wear pastel pink, lime and beige adult baby world stretch pants and loose tees to not cover their protuberant girth. And mullets? The latest thing. And not ironically, either. And the women all had these terrifying Bad Perm fluffy cuts that looked like a gene splice between an electrified poodle and Echo and several Bunnymen.
That is, when they didn ’t have Farrah wing shags.

I mean, what is the *deal* with these people? Being conservative doesn ’t necessarily mean looking like your fashion sense has been preserved in a time machine set on gauche.

I mean, how does Laura Bush buy a $20,000 gown and end up with something that looks like an off-the-rack number from Auntie Binnie ’s FormalWare? And W ’s $3,000 dollar French suits? One step up from Ralph Nader ’s clothing-as-penance look.

The conservative writer Tom Wolfe once said that everything you need to know about a person, you can see in what they ’ve chosen to wear.

Based on what I saw, these clothes stated: I wish it was the 50s but the 70s will do; Having my daughter look like a very cheap whore will teach her her place in the free market place; I ’m really scared of being taken for a fag; I ’m even more scared to look like anything but everyone else. And if I'm rich, I will wear the most godawful, sub-Nudies' nightmare-wear as long as it's in flag colors.

But more than that, it evinces an absolute dislike for aesthetics and a proud ignorance of what's going on on Earth.

-Leftist college students (and one Berkeley mayor) repeatedly steals and destroys runs of newspapers for containing expression they don't like

-most hecklers who shout down speakers are from the left

-Student at Cal State San Luis Obispo punished for wanting (but not actually doing, since he walked away after being asked to do so) to put up a flier advertising a talk by a conservative black author

-Psychology professor at same college fired from department chair position and denied promotions after being "outed" as a republican; one colleague tells her "We would never have hired you if we knew you were a Republican"; she sues the school and wins

-student forced to undergo psychological counseling for stating in class that he thought homosexuality was a mental illness that could be cured by therapy (see fascism's historic usages of psychology and psychiatry to "reeducate" political dissidents)

-Immigrant student at Foothill College has professor threaten his immigrant status unless he seeks regular psychological counseling after student writes an essay arguing why he thought the US Constitution was a progressive document for its time, contradicting the professor's political perspective

-Accounting professor at Cal State Fullerton fired after a campaign by his colleagues to do so which involved in part the passing around of a flier describing his Republican political views (which were published in the LA Times after he ran for office). he sues and wins

-Affirmative action conference gets driven off a college campus by threats and violence after things get so out of control that security can't guarantee their safety

2. Force used to suppress arts that contradict the favored political viewpoint

3. Film theater drops plans to show "Birth of a Nation", coupled with panel of experts who planned to discuss it afterwards, after threats are made to the theater.

4. Frequent use of labels of abuse and condemnation in attempt to shame opposition into silence

-labels of "racist", "sexist, "homophobe", "fascist", "misogynist", etc. fired willy nilly at anyone who questions the leftist canon

5. Use of educational institutions to indoctrinate the theoretical underpinnings of the desired political worldview

-Critical theory, the theoretical underpinnings of left wing fascism, which teaches that there is no objective truth, only the exercise of political power, is taught as gospel in numerous disciplines.

-Countless such stories on college campuses of students verbally abused or graded down for questioning the professor's political view

6. Appeal to the democratic process only when it suits them, only to oppose it when it doesn't. Part of the basic fascist view that all elements of society must be brought together for the purposes of serving the prevailing political ideology.

-Kerry workers slash tires of vans that were to take republican workers to the polls

-Leftist legal activists sue to try to have prop 209 declared unconstitutional, enacted into law by popular vote, on the supposed basis that it violates the 14th amendment's equal protection clause. Prop 209 banned all forms of racial discrimination by California's state government, including affirmative action in the form of racial preferences. Hence, arguing that that law violated the federal equal protection clause amounted to arguing that a state law banning racial discrimination contradicted a federal law banning racial discrimination (see also fascism's twisting of logic to serve its political ends).

7. Demonizing the opposition as part of dividing the world into the "evil them" vs. the "good us"

-see above labels of abuse and condemnation (racist, sexist, etc.), as well as knee jerk assumptions that leaders of the opposition (e.g. Bush) do not and can not have anything other than evil motives behind any of their actions, regardless of the fact that no evidence is presented to justify such localized cynicism.

For people who recognize and oppose the rise of Fascism in America. This is a place to talk about events, laws, etc that reflect the frightening rise of the extreme right in our country. People from any country are welcome.

I will be sharing some basic history on fascism and how it has risen in the past... very gradually, to lessen the possibility of resistance.

FASCISM: A system of government marked by the centralization of authority, the marriage of state and corporate power, aggressive military policy, severe social regimentation, elitism, the suppression of opposition through fear, and a policy of belligerent nationalism and often racism.
